From further south, around Fair Oaks Boulevard and Carmichael Park, Manzanita Avenue is the usual way up. It runs north through Carmichael to Auburn Boulevard, and Auburn Boulevard leads on to Greenback Lane beside the shop.

Getting to Dave's Smog & Registration From Carmichael
From central Carmichael, take Manzanita Avenue north past Winding Way and Madison Avenue to its end at Auburn Boulevard. Turn right onto Auburn and follow it about half a mile to Greenback Lane, then turn right; the plaza is just past the intersection.
From the north end of Carmichael near Garfield Avenue, Greenback Lane runs east to the shop in under a mile.
